Support for Windows 7 has ended

After 10 years, support for Windows 7 ended on January 14, 2020. We know change can be difficult, so we are here to help you with recommendations for what to do next and to answer questions about end of support.

What does end of support mean?

When Windows 7 reached end of support on January 14, 2020, your computer will still function but Microsoft will no longer provide the following:

  • Technical support for any issues

  • Software updates

  • Security updates or fixes

While you could continue to use your PC running Windows 7, without continued software and security updates, it will be at greater risk for viruses and malware. Going forward, the best way for you to stay secure is on Windows 10 or Windows 11. While it is possible to install Windows 10 or 11 on your older device, it has to have new enough hardware to run it properly. TDR Computers will inspect your equipment free of charge to ascertain whether your existing computer will support Windows 10 or 11.

TDR Computers backup all your documents and photos before we commence your upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10. We will check the compatability of all your existing programs and advise you on any incompatability. Included is 12 months BullGuard Internet Security to keep you safe

If you have any questions regarding the upgrade from Windows 7 to 10 please click here to contact us or complete a contact form here. Please note we cannot advise you about whether your PC will run Windows 10 without seeing it. Some computers will require a component upgrade to run properly.
